Verschwörung in Jordanien?

Schwer zu sagen was dahinter steckt.

The former crown prince of Jordan has pledged allegiance to King Abdullah, two days after he said he was placed under house arrest and accused of trying to destabilise the country.

Prince Hamzah bin Hussein, 41, issued a statement hours after mediation saying he was committed to the constitution.

Officials said the king had asked his uncle, Prince Hassan, to help resolve the unprecedented tensions.

The prince denies the allegations of conspiracy.[...]

Das Statement:
Amman, April 5 (Petra) -- After His Majesty King Abdullah’s decision to resolve matters surrounding His Royal Highness Prince Hamzah bin Al Hussein and the developments of the past two days within the Royal Hashemite Family, and after King Abdullah entrusted His Royal Highness Prince El Hassan bin Talal to undertake this, Prince El Hassan reached out to Prince Hamzah, who reiterated his commitment to the Hashemite tradition and the course of action entrusted by His Majesty to Prince El Hassan.

Prince El Hassan met with Prince Hamzah in the presence of Their Royal Highnesses Princes Hashim bin Al Hussein, Talal bin Muhammed, Ghazi bin Muhammed, and Rashid bin El Hassan at Prince El Hassan’s residence on Monday, where Prince Hamzah signed the following letter:

"In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful,

Throughout their glorious history, the Hashemites have epitomised an approach to governance based on justice, mercy, and compassion, with the goal of serving the nation, its mission, and principles. The Hashemites have always been upholders of a mission and builders of the future, who have devoted themselves to serving the homeland and its people.

The responsibility is vested today in His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein, following in the footsteps of the ancestors, reinforcing the foundations of a dear homeland governed by its Constitution and laws, fortified by the awareness and cohesion of its people, and impenetrable due to its enduring national institutions; which has enabled Jordan to face all dangers and challenges, conquering them with help and grace of God.

The national interest must remain above all else, and we must all stand behind His Majesty the King in his efforts to safeguard Jordan and its national interests, and ensure the best for the Jordanian people, in accordance with the Hashemite legacy of dedication to serving the nation and supporting the head of the family and the leader of the homeland, may God protect him.

In light of the developments over the past two days, I put myself at the disposal of His Majesty the King, and I reaffirm that I will always remain committed to the covenant of the ancestors, loyal to their legacy, following in their footsteps, devoted to their path and mission, and to His Majesty the King; and committed to the Constitution of the dear Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. And I will always remain the supporter of His Majesty the King and his Crown Prince.

God says in the Holy Quran: "O you who believe, obey God, and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you. If you should quarrel about anything, refer it to God and the Messenger, if you believe in God and the Last Day; that is better and more excellent in interpretation." [An-Nisa 59]."

The situation in Jordan was being watched closely in neighboring Israel, which signed a peace treaty with the kingdom in 1994 and maintains close security ties with it.
A conversation took place on Saturday night between senior Jordanian officials and their Israeli military and internal security counterparts, according to an Israeli official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to talk about sensitive security and diplomatic issues. According to the Israeli official, the Jordanian officials told their Israeli counterparts that there had not been a coup attempt, that the situation was under control and that its gravity had been exaggerated by the news media, though they did confirm that arrests had been made.

Richtig.

AMMAN (Reuters) -When Prince Hamza visited the relatives of COVID-19 patients who died after a hospital ran out of oxygen, he triggered a rift in Jordan’s monarchy that has shaken the country’s reputation as a stable country in a volatile region.

The March 14 visit to the city of Salt was, in the words of a senior establishment figure, the “straw that broke the camel’s back”, coming as it did hours after King Abdullah had visited the hospital and publicly scolded management for the nine deaths.

Hamza made the trip to console the bereaved six days before Prince Hussein went to the city to do the same, a move that some officials said had upstaged his younger rival for the throne.

Reuters spoke to more than a dozen officials, former officials and palace insiders about the events leading to the accusations against Hamza. They spoke on condition of anonymity in order to be able to discuss sensitive issues.

Eight people familiar with the situation said that Hamza’s visit had undermined his half-brother the king, and prompted authorities to place him under house arrest and accuse him of involvement in activities aimed at destabilising the country.[...]
