European package to save JCPOA not ideal but good start

Expressing his optimism about the Iran nuclear deal, Salehi said if the international community joins hands, the accord will be a good example for resolving international crises in the future.

"JCPOA is a deal that is in the interest of my nation, it is in the interest of the region, and it is in the interest of the international community. So I wish that this deal will stay intact and it will not be jeopardized further," the Iranian top nuclear official added.

He also described the US foreign policy as confusing and said such a policy will not serve any purpose even for American people.

The Netherlands Bicycle Partnership to promote cycling in Iranian cities

NBP initiated in 2015. The NBP is a Dutch based international operating consortium including private parties, public institution (Municipalities The Hague and Amsterdam) and Knowledge institution (University of Amsterdam) in the field of sustainable mobility in large cities.

It has a focus on the bicycle as a relevant mode of transport in the urban environment. The NBP has developed an integrated strategy for a successful introduction of cycling as a daily mode of transport in cities.

A study by World Health Organization published in 2016 asserts that Tehran is one of the most air polluted cities in the world. Tehran is ranked 12th among 26 megacities in terms of ambient PM10 levels.

But while cars are the most abundant in the city, heavy-duty vehicles including buses and trucks the most polluting ones contributing to 85 percent of the air pollution in the city.

TEHRAN -- An Iranian startup set out to provide a system based on Internet of Things (IoT) for its bike sharing service in Tehran in coming months.

Tehrani citizens can enjoy cycling in different parts of the city through downloading the startup’s app on their smartphone.

The startup will begin activity in coming weeks for Tehrani citizens, its public relations director Mohsen Arefi told the Tehran Times.

The Members can check out a bicycle from a network of automated stations, ride to their destination and leave the bicycle safely locked for someone else to use.

The bikes have two GPS devices, which facilities their monitoring, he explained.

They are also equipped with puncture resistant tires and disc brakes, he added.

The citizens between 16 to 75 year old can use the bikes and the riders are provided with insurance coverage, he explained.

A total of 29 parking lots are now considered for the bikes across Enqelab Avenue, Keshavarz Boulevard, Beheshti Street and Motahhari Avenue in which the bikes are available 24/7 for citizens, he added.
